Israeli Airstrike on Deir al-Balah Market Claims Nine Lives
Gaza: At least nine individuals were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a market in Deir al-Balah, located in the central Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources on Tuesday.
Reports indicate that an Israeli aircraft fired at least one missile at the crowded market, which was filled with shoppers at the time of the attack. Medical sources confirmed that the airstrike resulted in the deaths of nine people, including women and children, while several others sustained injuries.
The deceased and injured were transported to the Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, where concerns are growing that the death toll may rise as more information emerges.
As of now, Israel has not issued a statement regarding the airstrike. This incident is part of a larger offensive that Israel has been conducting against Hamas in Gaza, which was launched in response to a Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, that resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the kidnapping of around 250 others.
